SCENARIO
Afterpay was already a big name in the BNPL space in Australia, and was quickly gaining momentum in the United States. A branding agency had just given AP a visual facelift and the product needed a design system to power it.

Create Afterpay's first design system to pair with a new look and feel while redesigning the product at the same time from end-to-end.

Most people weren't familiar with BNPL yet so clean UX and UI were more important than ever to help people grasp new fintech concepts that might be table stakes today.

Giving customers a map of businesses near them that accept Afterpay was a huge addition to conversion and increasing reach.

DIGITAL CARDS
Giving customers the ability to add a digital AP card to their Apple Wallet was a great addition to the list of features that Afterpay was growing.
