REAL ESTATE TECH
2016-2020
WeWork
Technology and office co-working real estate meet for unlimited growth and a constant need for launching new things.
SCENARIO
WeWork was growing quickly with no end in sight and needed constant website work to match its catalog, a new member app for customers, a design system to power each of those, and globalization logic for new markets.
SOLUTION
Use constant testing to improve website conversion while creating a design system for the member app once someone has signed up. Then create a design system and visual language to match a new .com experience that will bring parity between the physical spaces being opened and the brand experience online.
Starting on the web team

EVERYTHING IS FINE
WeWork is a unicorn name on the rise and nothing bad has ever happened.
A/B TEST OVER AND OVER AND OVER
In late 2016 there was a huge emphasis on improving website conversion to bring people in to tour spaces and reserve rooms online. Usertesting.com was an essential part of a toolkit to constantly rev on forms, modules, landing pages, and product descriptions and diagrams.

REBUILDING AN APP
The original member app was being completely rebuilt and needed a new visual identity and design system to be a framework for growth. It was named Tanooki because look at that little dude.

MATCHING INSIDE AND OUT
WeWork buildings interiors were becoming cohesive works of art under Adam Kimmel and the website needed to match what was setting the company apart in the physical space. This required creating a new look and feel for the site and building a design system for it named Ray.
Bringing another platform up to speed
SPACESTATION NEEDED HELP
The platform that office managers use to keep track of the spaces was in desperate need of a design system to unify the expanding capabilities and improve quality of life for the people using it.
